UPDATED CODE OF CONDUCT LAUNCHES IN EIGHT LANGUAGES

Revised Code Aligns with Global Standards and Emerging ESG Risks
WFSGI Members have an updated Code of Conduct after the 2026 General Assembly approved revisions to ensure this business-critical document aligns with global standards, has strengthened language for high-risk areas and encompasses our diverse membership from manufactures to brands and retailers.
As part of WFSGI’s strategic priority to Enable Sustainable Business, the Code is anchored in internationally recognised standards applied across global supply chains and ESG workstreams.
It is aligned with International Labour Organisation conventions, United Nations Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights and OECD Guidelines and has undergone extensive member consultation and external legal review.
WHAT’S NEW IN THE CODE?
The revised WFSGI Code of Conduct has clearer distinctions on mandatory requirements, ESG ambitions, and longer-term expectations for our members. It has a more defined scope that includes subcontractors and affiliated WFSGI programme partners.
Labour standards and protection for vulnerable workers have been refined and clarity on grievance mechanisms and whistleblower protection is expanded. New topics have also been added including data protection, business integrity, and clearer environmental expectations.
