Russian Mandatory Labelling
A cross-committee working group was established between the WFSGI Legal and Trade Committees to handle this case. This working group exchanged and updated information and action plans regarding a mandatory footwear labelling requirement installed in Russia.
Since this requirement is considered a technical barrier to trade and has a significant operational impact on selling sport footwear on the Russian market, the group drafted a position paper. The latter was shared with an analysis of the inconsistency of the measure with WTO regulations with several governments.
