Brazilian Footwear Anti-Dumping
Positive result achieved: reduction of the anti-dumping duty from US$13.85 to US$10.22.
The anti-dumping duty remains highly inflated and resulted from an unprecedented interpretation of related parties under the anti-dumping laws.
The review of the Brazilian anti-dumping duties on footwear imports from China started in 2021 and is handled jointly with the Brazilian Sporting Goods Industry Association APICE. The WFSGI is in charge of the global coordination of the case.
The WFSGI’s involvement in the initial investigation was the first larger trade case that was coordinated under the WFSGI umbrella. Thus, it has some historical significance as it was the initiation of the industry to actively engage in trade cases beyond regional scope.
It remains crucial that the industry continues to raise its voice and actively participates in the review in order to defend its position for free and fair trade.

• Positive result achieved: reduction of the anti-dumping duty from US$13.85 to US$10.22.
