WFSGI welcomes Michelle Smyth as Head of Cycling

World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) welcomes Michelle Smyth as the new Head of Cycling.

Michelle Smyth has a duel French and English Law degree and formerly practices as a solicitor in the UK. She has spent the past 10 years working in varied roles across event organization, marketing and partnerships for sports brands. She played basketball internationally and now lives in France where she spends her free time cycling, running and skiing.

I'm thoroughly looking forward to joining the team at the WFSGI and working with the members of the Bicycle Committee`` said Michelle Smyth, WFSGI Head of Cycling
The role of Head of Cycling is a great opportunity for me to combine my passion for physical activity with my legal background and cycling industry experience.

Michelle is taking on the role of “Head of Cycling”, formerly known as “Head of Bicycle”. The WFSGI has renamed this position as it better encompasses Michelle’s new role. Her role is to proactively support and coordinate the WFSGI activities on behalf of the bicycle brands and the WFSGI Secretariat and help grow our services and offering to the bicycle industry.

WFSGI has in its membership the leading bicycle brands and we are confident that Michelle Smyth is the right fit to actively engage and strengthen the Bicycle and Cycling activities between members and stakeholders

said Robbert de Kock, WFSGI President and CEO

Michelle has replaced Mark Barfield who was formerly the Head of Bicycle at the WFSGI since 2018. “We want to thank Mark for all he has done for the WFSGI and wish him all the best in his new endeavor” said Robbert de Kock.
