2025 was a defining year for the World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry. Across strategy, advocacy, and member-led committee action, the federation, under the leadership of WFSGI CEO Emma Zwiebler, strengthened its role as a global industry voice, driving impact at the intersection of sport, health policy and sustainability.

Some of our Committee Reports highlights include: 

• The Trade Committee’s monitoring of shifting regulations and responding to urgent developments in markets including Indonesia and Mexico, while supporting on the rapid policy changes reshaping global trade. 
• The Physical Activity Committee’s focus on partnerships and global policy engagement with the launch of the inaugural Sporting Goods Industry Physical Activity Impact Report and presence at global platforms and policy forums such as the World Health Assembly and United Nations General Assembly.
• The International Sports Committee’s deepening collaboration with World Athletics on shoe regulations and the extensive work with the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees from our Road to Games and Uniform Support Programme ahead of Milano Cortina 2026. 
• Various Cycling Working Groups addressed complex regulatory agenda spanning handlebars, helmets and e-bikes. 
• Shared expertise allowed the Legal Committee to focus on practical solutions that strengthen resilience and adaptability across the industry.  
• The ESG Committee focused on an updated strategic framework, key regulatory partnership offers for members and revising the WFSGI Code of Conduct.
