Moving on to a digital and automated business of the future

The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) will host its fifth edition of the World Manufacturers Forum at Messe Munich/Germany on November 14-15. As usual, a widely ranged high-caliber keynote speaker lineup drawing from academics, automotive, consumer-goods, electronics and other sectors will present on how to be “Moving on to a digital and automated business of the future”. During the Forum, the audience will have the exclusive opportunity to subscribe for a tailormade guided tour around productronica – the world’s leading trade fair for electronics development and production, and to meet the most relevant service providers for the sporting goods industry.

Rakhil Hirdaramani, Director of Sri Lankan based Hirdaramani Intl. Exports and Chairman of the WFSGI Manufacturers Committee asks: “If the world’s biggest car and hotel companies respectively own no assets, then what is the next step for the sporting goods industry? What challenges does the industry face and could it potentially digitize the total supply chain to the point where manufacturers bid for production? Or else could brands potentially open-source their designs or just sell them digitally for a fee only for them to be produced close to market?” Answers will be provided during one of the interactive future workshop and panel discussion. A first preliminary agenda will be published early summer.

Prof. Dr. Ing. Sami Haddadin, Director Institute Automation, University Hannover is the creator of Franka Emika, a lightweight robot, designed to work among humans. Prof. Sami Haddadin will show opportunities for the sporting goods industry on how this robot design paradigm allows for seamlessly connecting efficiency, digitalization and intelligent automation in order to achieve the optimal user experience. 

Dr. Klaus Hecker, Managing Director, Organic and Printed Electronics Association will present new applications for printed Electronics that are thin, lightweight and flexible. 

From delivery, transportation and household errands, to professional services and consulting, the on-demand economy is not only changing the way people consume goods and services, it’s also changing the way millions of people work. Denis Pennel, Managing Director of the World Employment Confederation will examine the On-demand economy and its rapidly rising influence on the business of the future.
