The WFSGI leadership and member representatives from adidas, Decathlon, Nike and SBS Zipper had the honour of a private meeting WTO Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the WTO Public Forum.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong alignment between the WTO's mission and the priorities of the global sporting goods industry. As a sector whose value chains span continents and whose success depends on open, transparent, and predictable trade, we share a common interest in strengthening a rules-based multilateral trading system that supports economic opportunity, stability, and sustainable growth.
The WTO atrium was full for our Trade, Growth & Health: The Global Sports Economy session. Moderated by WFSGI CEO Emma Zwiebler and featuring WFSGI Co-Chair and Chief Government Affairs & Public Policy Officier Jorge Casimiro, Paralympian Marlou van Rhijn, WTO Director Market Access Division Suja Rishikesh and Bang Trinh, Founding Partner 20in20 Partners and CoFounder and Chairman Sunrise Event Viet Nam this session brought the true impact of the industry that moves the world and the importance of market access to a highly engaged audience.
